Five jury trials in three months. It's a dream beyond the reach of most associates, who usually spend years doing paperwork at their desks before getting a shot at standing before a jury. But fifth-year associate Peter Laufenberg took some time off from bad faith insurance cases at his California firm last year to get that experience. He completed a three-month stint with the local DA's office, where he worked as a temporary prosecutor in a trial boot camp of sorts.
