Georgia’s largest-ever civil verdict has the blessing of a Gwinnett Superior Court judge, who has ruled that the $454 million award is not excessive.

Judge James W. Oxendine also ordered the defendant, Time Warner Entertainment Co., to post a $454 million supersedeas bond to cover the damages while the case is on appeal. The plaintiff, Six Flags Over Georgia, had asked for a $550 million bond to cover two years’ worth of interest as well as the verdict itself.
