Federal prosecutor Kenneth Thompson made a point of describing the brutal assaults on Abner Louima first, and identifying the assailants second.
“The reason he didn’t call the police was because the men who beat him, the men who tortured him, were police officers of the City of New York,” Mr. Thompson said during opening statements in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn.
