SBC Communications Inc. has hired New York’s Sullivan & Cromwell, and Prodigy Communications Corp. has retained Boston’s Hale and Dorr L.L.P., to handle legal work on the joining of their Internet businesses. Under the terms of the $900 million deal, SBC and Prodigy will create a limited partnership providing business and consumer Internet services. Prodigy will have a 57% stake, and SBC a 43% stake, in the limited partnership.
