Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker said Wednesday it will dramatically hike associate salaries in its San Francisco office, but will continue to put off any decision about what to do about pay in Southern California.
Paul, Hastings is the first big Los Angeles-based firm to enter the furious salary war that commenced when several Bay Area firms announced they were hiking base salaries for first-year associates to a record $125,000. With bonus packages, final take-home pay at some firms tops $150,000.
