Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Norman Ackerman recently denied the claim by Episcopal Hospital that the evidence in a corporate negligence case was not sufficient to hold the hospital directly liable for a patient’s death.
A jury had awarded Claudette Milton’s estate and her daughter $1.1 million in the wrongful death and survival action against Episcopal Hospital. The hospital moved for a JNOV, but the trial court denied the motion.
