On Monday, North Adams, Mass., Mayor John Barrett III filed a suit claiming that two political foes defamed his reputation with their Web site, The Boston Globe reports.
In the suit, filed in Berkshire Superior Court, Barrett alleged that North Adams landlord John Choquette and retired detective William Davis libeled him on their Web site. The site claimed that the mayor of 17 years was a liar, a thief, and a child molester, according to the Globe.
