The Star, a tabloid that falsely named JonBenet Ramsey’s brother as a murder suspect, has settled a $25 million libel suit with John and Patsy Ramsey for an undisclosed amount.
Gerson A. Zweifach, a partner with Williams & Connolly in Washington, and L. Lin Wood Jr. of Wood & Grant in Atlanta confirmed Monday that the Ramseys and the Star settled the suit Friday in U.S. District Court in Atlanta. Ramsey v. American Media Inc. No. 1:99-cv-3087 (N.D. Ga. March 17, 2000).
