The Securities and Exchange Commission brought civil charges Jan. 5 against Yun Soo Oh Park, also known as “Tokyo Joe” and his company Tokyo Joe’s Societe Anonyme in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for allegedly engaging in a scheme to defraud Societe Anonyme members (SEC v. Park a/k/a Tokyo Joe., N.D. Ill., No. 00C 0049, filed 01/05/00).
The SEC alleges that Park engaged in scalping, illegal touting, and lying about his performance record from at least July 1998 to at least June 1999.
