Plaintiffs in the antitrust case against New York City’s two major auction houses have been granted certification as a class by a Southern District of New York judge.

Judge Lewis A. Kaplan certified the plaintiff class on April 21 in In re Auction Houses Antitrust Litigation, 00 Civ. 0648., clearing the way for the price-fixing case against Sotheby’s Holding Inc. and Christie’s Inc. to proceed.
