By a resounding 343-to-7 vote, the New Hampshire House of Representatives on April 13 ordered its first impeachment inquiry of a state Supreme Court justice in two centuries.

The resolution instructs the House Judiciary Committee to investigate ethics charges made by the state attorney general against Chief Justice David A. Brock “and/or any other justice” of the five-judge court. The vote, called for by Speaker Donna P. Sytek, follows three weeks of public revelations about the court’s internal practices.
