Is it libelous for a newspaper to report that someone has been “fired” from his or her job, when the person’s employment relationship indisputably was severed? And is the word “fired,” in and of itself, defamatory?
These are questions no Florida court has specifically addressed up to now, but the 4th District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach may have to resolve them.
