They could have been lounging at the beach or snagging fly balls. But 48 high school students from around New York state chose to spend a week of summer vacation at mock trial camp, honing their advocacy skills for upcoming competitions.

Brittany Crowley of Saratoga County even cut short a family vacation in Florida to take part in the New York State Bar Association’s first mock trial camp at Skidmore College.
