A Philadelphia judge has remitted to $3.75 million the largest verdict handed up by a city jury last year — the mid-December 2005 $20 million award for a 27-year-old immigrant mother of three whose right arm was crushed during a 2001 industrial accident.

Including delay damages, the post-remittitur judgment totals roughly $4.02 million, Judge Victor J. DiNubile Jr. wrote in his opinion in Leyva v. International Surface Preparation Corp.
