Almost 30 years ago, when bans on law firm advertising were lifted, most in the industry will tell you that the marketing profession was little more than a one-woman-band who put out a firm brochure.

Times, they have changed. Law firm marketing is becoming recognized as a necessary step for major firms to stay competitive, at least according to the chief marketing officers who handle that function.
