Green Bag, the irreverent and always-interesting law review, has published its first annual almanac and reader, chock full of lawyerly trivia and writings. Almost every page offers an interesting morsel, in the way that almanacs used to be full of information, entertainment, home remedies, and lunar charts.

One of the most fascinating offerings relates to the recipe for eggnog that is well known among Supreme Court history buffs. Green Bag sent out the powerful recipe to subscribers several years ago, speculating that it originated with Chief Justice Harlan Fiske Stone, in whose papers the recipe was found. But it also noted that the name Harry Parker was typed on the recipe. It took a letter from the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist to figure out who that was.
