A Long Island, N.Y., woman who won $1 million in an online gambling promotion but was able to collect less than 10 percent of her winnings has won the right to sue a Swedish company in a Central Islip federal court.

Eastern District Judge Arthur D. Spatt has ruled, in Uebler v. Boss Media AB, 03 CV 4790, that the court had personal jurisdiction over Swedish-based Boss Media, a supplier of systems for online gambling despite Boss’ claim that it had nothing to do with running the contest.
