James Y. Rayis has been doing business in Iraq for 2 1/2 years. He recently spent a couple of weeks training the Iraqi oil ministry’s legal department in the fundamentals of international trade law as part of a program to modernize the ministry sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
I met him for lunch at Chequers Seafood Grill near his office at Sokolow Carreras Lemoine & Partners by Perimeter Mall in Atlanta to find out what it’s like to do business in Iraq.
