When he was interviewing for a job at Castle Brands Inc., Seth Weinberg says he decided to put the New York-based company through a “diligence process.” Since its products were widely available, Weinberg thought it would be prudent to sample them. He enlisted two discerning friends who were, he says, “kind enough to volunteer their time.”

The test? To see if Gosling’s Black Seal Bermuda Rum and Pallini Limoncello, both distributed by Castle Brands, were products that Weinberg could stand behind. Luckily, the Castle Brands booze met the testers’ rigorous standards. “They have a great quality of product,” marvels Weinberg, 32, who is now senior vice president and GC of Castle Brands, and its first in-house lawyer. “It was a tremendous selling point.”
