A former employee of Randall’s Food Markets Inc. has filed a religious discrimination suit against the grocery chain for allegedly denying him promotions and terminating him because he could not work on Sundays.

Phillip M. Way, a Williamson County, Texas, resident, filed Way v. Randall’s Food Markets Inc., et al. on Sept. 20 in Houston’s 215th District Court. Owned by supermarket operator Safeway Inc., Randall’s has offices in Houston.
