In April, Ocean Tomo LLC conducted its first live auction of patents. It will conduct a second live auction in New York today and Thursday.

As in auctions of real estate, artwork, second-hand machinery and other property, Ocean Tomo provides a catalog of the patents to be auctioned as well as various advisory services, workshops and databases for conducting due diligence on the patents offered. It also provides access to reports that score the patents offered according to their perceived value in prospective licensing transactions or in litigation.
