The annual on-off shuffle of law firms that win a place or lose a spot among the nation’s largest 250 involved 20 firms this year.

Filling the 10 slots created by the law firms that slid off the list because they had fewer than 172 attorneys — this year’s minimum to make the cut — were firms that either made inaugural appearances or re-emerged after a brief hiatus.
