A few weeks ago, as I waited in line at a deli for a late lunch, I noticed the woman in front of me was livid. I wondered what could have put her in such a foul mood — “Did the sandwich-maker spit in her face?” — I couldn’t help but overhear the source of her ire.
“You don’t have wheat again?”(Head toss, long sigh.)
