Attorney General Alberto Gonzales faced a series of detailed and sometimes impassioned questions from House Democrats Thursday, during a second congressional hearing in as many months examining his role in the firing of at least eight U.S. Attorneys.
But he provided few new answers, and Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee expressed frustration that they still have not received a clear explanation why a number of the U.S. Attorneys were chosen for dismissal and who in the Bush administration selected them for termination.
