New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine signed a law on Thursday that would divest many elected and appointed New Jersey officials of eligibility for pension benefits.
The measure, S-17/A-21, was recommended by a special legislative committee on pensions last year as a way to cut down on abuses of the Public Employee Retirement System.
