Conrad Harper was made a partner at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in 1974, becoming the first African American to become partner at any large law firm in New York City. As partner at Simpson Thacher, Mr. Harper built a varied civil litigation practice, representing such clients as Paramount Pictures, General Motors, Christies International and Universal Pictures.
