That’s right — I said it. I don’t want another “market raise.” Don’t “show me the money!” Don’t add another $10,000 or $20,000 to my paycheck.
"No more money!" says humor columnist The Snark, echoing what perhaps many large-firm associates feel these days. While partners might assume associates are drooling with anticipation at the next salary hike, The Snark insists that some of his colleagues feel uncomfortable with other employees of the law firm hating them -- secretaries and even partners resent associates for taking away from their profits and free coffee. And The Snark says he would gladly trade in a raise for a guilt-free vacation.
