Finding that real estate developer Mark Mendelson became a “public figure” because his projects were often highly controversial and he never “shunned” media attention, a Lehigh County, Pa., judge has dismissed his libel suit against the Allentown Morning Call newspaper.

Judge Lawrence J. Brenner of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas concluded that the newspaper was entitled to summary judgment because Mendelson failed to show any evidence of actual malice.
