Husband-and-wife attorneys Christopher and Randi Collotta, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to insider trading at Morgan Stanley, were spared Thursday from serving time in prison by a sympathetic federal judge.

Southern District of New York Judge Victor Marrero cited Mr. Collotta’s poor medical condition as the main factor in deciding to give him a sentence of three years probation instead of prison time.
