In his years as a Silicon Valley attorney, James Brelsford has worn many hats. He’s been a general counsel, a manager of business development for private and public companies — including one that flew high and crashed hard — and a managing regional partner for a major law firm.

Yet he’s not seen it all by any means, he said, and is excited about the legal issues his new gig as general counsel for SanDisk Corp. will throw at him. He started work Aug. 27.
