A little more than six months after forming Los Angeles’ Dreier Stein & Kahan, partner Stanton “Larry” Stein set his sights on a Beverly Hills, Calif., litigation shop: Browne Woods & George.
Stein’s L.A. outpost for New York’s Dreier firm had grown to 54 lawyers, but it still needed more litigators. So, in August, Stein invited old friend Edward Woods to brunch at the beachside hotel Shutters in Santa Monica, Calif.
