A report by a Supreme Court judge concludes that authorities violated the human rights of a journalist who exposed a pedophile ring set up by rich power brokers in Cancun.
A report released Monday by Magistrate Juan Silva Meza found that at least 30 public officials, including Puebla state Gov. Mario Marin, conspired to abuse power, peddle influence and violate the rights of journalist Lydia Cacho, who was jailed in December 2005 after implicating politicians and a businessman in a sweeping sex scandal.
