San Francisco patent-holder activist Greg Aharonian has failed to get rid of a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office official he claimed wasn’t qualified for the job.
Washington, D.C., District Judge James Robertson dismissed a suit filed by Aharonian on Dec. 7. The complaint alleged that the appointment of Margaret Peterlin as deputy undersecretary of commerce for intellectual property and deputy director of the PTO was unlawful because she didn’t have a “professional background and experience in patent or trademark law.”
