After 20 years, professional football could finally make its return to Los Angeles.

The National Football League's San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders announced Friday a plan to jointly construct a new $1.7 billion stadium located about 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles in Carson, California. The privately financed project, which would be the home field for both teams, has led to roles for at least two Am Law 100 firms.

Latham & Watkins and Munger, Tolles & Olson are advising the Chargers on the proposal, along with strategic communications boutique Fabiani & Lehane, says Mark Fabiani, a founding partner of the latter and special counsel to the Chargers in their efforts to build a new stadium.
