DLA Piper has expanded beyond the traditional legal model again by rolling out a corporate finance and M&A advisory arm. The legal giant's latest venture, London-based Noble Street, follows the January launch of CyberTrak, a subscription-based online platform detailing varying cybersecurity laws in international markets, according to our previous reports.

Noble Street, which is aimed at addressing a capital shortage in the entertainment, media, technology and sports arena, will be led by attorney and film financier Anthony Mosawi, whom the firm hired specifically for the role, along with Sir Nigel Knowles, global co-chairman of DLA Piper, and Christopher Hanson, head of DLA Piper's media and entertainment group, according to the firm.

Most recently, Mosawi operated his own film production and financing firm, Santa Monica, California-based Mayhem Entertainment LLC, as founder and CEO. Before that, from 2000 to 2004 he served as COO of the Mutual Film Company, a Hollywood-based outfit that produced the “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” movies, and for several years prior, Mosawi worked as an in-house attorney for Paramount Pictures.
