Orrick Takes Beijing IP Partner from Kirkland
Former Kirkland & Ellis partner Ya-Chiao Chang specializes in U.S. patent litigation.

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired an intellectual property partner for its China practice.
Ya-Chiao Chang, most recently a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, will work from Beijing. Chang acts for clients in the telecommunications, semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing sectors on U.S. patent litigation. He also handles IP matters and patent disputes in China.
Prior to joining Kirkland as a Beijing-based partner in 2011, Chang spent five years as of counsel with Jones Day in China and Taiwan. Previously he was a special counsel with IP specialist firm Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner.
