UPDATE: 9/8/15, 10:05 a.m. EDT. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton have landed lead roles on Tesco's $6 billion sale of its South Korean operations to MBK Partners, according to U.K. publication Legal Business.

Amid a slow week for billion-dollar transactional announcements, one big-money deal remains on the table, likely keeping more than a few Am Law 100 lawyers busy before the holiday weekend.

British grocery giant Tesco is reportedly mulling a $6.6 billion deal to sell its South Korean unit to Asian private equity firm MBK Partners. Tesco's South Korean operations are the company's largest outside the U.K., and a sale would bolster the struggling retailer's bottom line, as well as become the largest-ever private equity deal in South Korea.
