As 2015's third quarter comes to a close, bank-breaking, billion-dollar deals seem to be the gifts that keep on giving for M&A lawyers at Am Law 100 firms.

According to a report issued Tuesday by White & Case and Mergermarket, U.S. M&A is primed to round out the year at its highest levels since 2007 with a value of $753.3 billion for the first half of 2015, compared with $598 billion for the first half of 2014. The report cited low interest rates, cash piles of would-be acquirers and a strong stock market as a few of the reasons for the recent M&A surge.

With global numbers showing strength just as well, Bloomberg's M&A legal advisory rankings for the first three quarters of 2015 show roughly $3 trillion worth of announced deals to date. (Global M&A value reached $4 trillion by the end of 2007.)
