King & Wood Mallesons is advising a consortium led by Australian toll road operator Transurban Group on a $1.4 billion acquisition of a 6.7-kilometer tunnel in Brisbane, Queensland.

The Airport Link tunnel connects Brisbane’s business district to the city’s airport. The road opened in July 2012, but only seven months after that, its operator, the BrisConnections consortium—led by Australian investment bank Macquarie Group—was placed into administration due to lower than expected traffic.
