Weil, Gotshal & Manges, a firm familiar with high-profile bankruptcy engagements, took on a Chapter 7 case this week for The Pearl Theatre Co., a longtime off Broadway acting troupe based in New York City.

Commonly known as the Pearl Theatre, the company was established in 1984 in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan. It was also the launching pad for the careers of many famous thespians, including David Hyde Pierce, of “Frasier” fame.
