Kirkland & Ellis, moving quickly to build up the private equity group in its new Boston office, has hired two partners from Proskauer Rose, including a leader of Proskauer's private investment funds group.

Kirkland was set to announce Wednesday that it has hired Sean Hill, the former Proskauer practice group co-leader, and Stephanie Berdik, also a former Proskauer corporate partner. Hill and Berdik, who joined the firm Monday, are the firm's first investment fund lawyers in Boston.

Hill, 45, represents investment managers in business and operations, specifically, fund formation, and in structuring and executing secondary transactions. Berdik, 38, advises private investment fund sponsors on the structuring and establishment of funds and portfolio investment activities, including capital raising and fund regulatory and compliance matters.
