Jenny Durkan, a former federal prosecutor who joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in early 2015 to open the firm's Seattle office, has taken a leave of absence from the firm as she mounts a mayoral bid in her hometown.

Seattle's soon-to-be-former mayor, Ed Murray, is poised to officially resign late Wednesday following the publication of a story by the Seattle Times in which a younger cousin of Murray accused him of sexual abuse.

The report marked the fifth individual to come forward with allegations against Murray, a Democrat who had already said he would not stand for reelection in November. Murray has denied the sexual assault claims, characterizing them as prompted by his record as a gay rights champion. But he is embroiled in litigation with alleged victims.
