The American Lawyer is proud to announce the esteemed members of our new Young Lawyer Editorial Board. We received a huge number of nominations and were impressed with all of them. The group selected is truly representative of the up-and-coming leaders of the profession. We have individuals from California to New York and many cities in between, as well as from London. We have members from Big Law, boutiques, in-house counsel, federal defenders, public interest attorneys, litigation finance companies, law schools and other organizations. They range from just a year or so out of law school to some serving as young partners in their firms. Their backgrounds and path to the legal profession are as diverse as they are and their resumes are outmatched only by the insightfulness they have already brought to the board's conversations and writings. The goal of this board is to serve as a voice for the next generation of professionals in the legal profession. You may see editorials on anything from how to build a book of business to the subject of the board's first editorial out next week—what sexual harassment looks like in the legal industry and how the industry needs to combat it. I encourage our readers to reach out to the board, or myself at [email protected], if you have ideas for editorials or issues you are facing or overcoming in the profession. We will keep these confidential other than using the concepts as fodder for future pieces. Look to www.law.com/americanlawyer next week for the board's first editorial. Other great topics are in the works. I welcome our new board members and thank them for the crucial voice they bring to The American Lawyer's coverage of the legal industry.
