Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is urging a New York state court to send its dispute with breakaway partners now at Selendy & Gay into arbitration in California, a move that follows the Selendy & Gay lawyers’ challenge to a provision of Quinn Emanuel’s partnership agreement.

In filings that mark its first substantive response to a petition lodged by 10 Selendy & Gay partners, Quinn Emanuel accused the former partners of bringing a New York court action as a “publicity gambit” that effectively moved what should have been a private dispute into a public forum.
