Editor's note: The deadline to submit nominations for the first batch of awards has been pushed back to June 2. The deadline for remaining categories have been extended to June 19.
Each year we honor the best and brightest at The American Lawyer Industry Awards, our annual December event celebrating the most impressive work being done across the legal industry and the lawyers making it happen. At the moment, December seems a long way away. As the country and the world scramble to respond to the coronavirus epidemic and lawyers work from home along with so many others, it might be hard to think about anything else.
But in these tense times, lawyers are already doing their part. They're stepping up to bring the full weight of their pro bono capabilities to the fight, organizing fundraisers in their communities to address the immediate needs of their neighbors, responding to a flood of questions from clients facing an unpredictable crisis, and creating task forces focused specifically on helping clients respond.
And so today we're opening up the nomination period for the Industry Awards, and inviting you and your firms and companies to tell us about the innovative work being done throughout the legal industry. December may be a long time from now, but we're already looking forward to being able to join together, in person, and celebrate the important work this industry does for clients and the global community at large. And many of these awards will include features on the winners in The American Lawyer. The submissions deadlines have been extended from our usual timeframe given the circumstances we find ourselves in. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
