Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) is set to cut lawyer and staff positions across its global business, while reducing the salary reductions it implemented earlier this year, as it takes further steps to weather the COVID-19 business disruption.
Its global business cost-cutting measures also include shutting its small Beijing base, which houses one partner and two associates, according to the firm's website.
While the firm would not confirm the number of layoffs globally, one person with knowledge of the process said 40 people in London, including 14 fee earners and 26 business services staff, were impacted.
