Consulting firm AlixPartners has acquired Freeh Group International Solutions, adding to its portfolio a global risk management consultancy founded by former FBI director and federal judge Louis J. Freeh.

Freeh, who will join Alix as vice chairman and managing director, will now step down from his role as managing partner of law firm Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan. He will no longer practice law. Also joining Alix is FGIS CEO and president Jim Bucknam, along with Freeh and the 22 other FGIS employees.
