The drive-in theater holds reverence for those of a certain age, and the restrictions necessary to contain COVID-19 have brought that nostalgia into full bloom, as drive-ins are seeing a resurgence thanks to technology advancements and some out-of-the-box thinking. 

The pandemic has affected various industries differently. Some, like technology, security and biotechnology, have flourished. Entertainment and live events have not. The base, load-bearing member of entertainment has traditionally been the ability to gather, whether it is in movie theaters, sports arenas or concert venues. The pandemic has put a hard stop to all of that.
