Latham & Watkins represented Santa Clara, California-based graphics chipmaker NVIDIA in its acquisition of chipmaker Arm from SoftBank, which worked with Morrison & Foerster, for $40 billion, and Davis Polk & Wardwell represented biopharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences in its $21 billion acquisition of cancer treatment leader Immunomedics, which worked with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz on a Sunday that included two of the top 10 deals of the year by value.The Latham team was led by an international team of M&A partners including Josh Dubofsky (Silicon Valley), Charles Ruck (New York), Ed Barnett and Farah O’Brien (London), Joshua Holian (San Francisco), Sven Volcker (Brussels) and Les Carnegie (Washington, D.C.). London-based partners David Little and Charles Claypool advised on regulatory matters. 

Morrison & Foerster was led by M&A partner and Tokyo office head Ken Siegel, San Francisco-based corporate partner and co-head of the firm’s corporate department Eric McCrath and London-based corporate partner Gary Brown.
