Law firm combinations seem to be slowly returning after a dismal second quarter, reflecting the sluggish but steady recovery many firms are experiencing amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to an Altman Weil report released Thursday, Q3 saw 20 law firm merger announcements, a sharp increase from the seven mergers that took place in Q2, and a slight one compared to the 17 combinations in Q1.
